  10.  AB    OBJECTIVE: To integrate the fight against HIV/AIDS into existing
  11.        activities in all sectors of technical cooperation. METHODS: The
  12.        integration started with the discussion at the central level.
  13.        Subsequently a process was developed to prepare all partners for the
  14.        integration of activities to fight HIV/AIDS. The preparation and
  15.        implementation of a plan of action with each project followed. RESULTS:
  16.        Until now about 40 plans of action outside the health sector are under
  17.        implementation in 4 countries. Further plans in the same and additional
  18.        countries are in preparation. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The integration
  19.        of the fight against HIV/AIDS in projects outside the health sector is
  20.        possible. Few additional funds are needed and the acceptance by
  21.        different sectors to implement this task is encouraging.
